     Program Strategies

To achieve program objectives, the Virginia Asian Foundation will focus on activities to:

  • Identify relevant civic issues needed to develop a Foundation Work Plan and to establish service outcome measurements.

  • Recruit and engage emerging Asian Pacific American service providers, young Asian leaders, faith-based organization leaders, community members, government leaders, and private sector leaders wishing to contribute their talents, ideas, and energies to enhance the quality of life of our communities.

  • Provide the tools, support, resources, and technical assistance for addressing community needs through our philanthropic activities.

  • Document, monitor, and offer continuous technical assistance, leadership, collaboration, and support to locally funded Asian civil empowerment initiatives.
     Mission

The mission of the Virginia Asian Foundation is to improve the quality of life of Asian Americans by fostering a better social understanding between the Asian American community and other diverse racial and ethnic communities.

We do this by arming our communities with the necessary tools and resources so they can fully participate in the democratic process and by executing and supporting a broad range of initiatives that lead to Asian American civic empowerment, leadership development, and cultural preservation.

     Vision

Our vision is to elevate the quality of life in our communities. We provide a positive platform for Asian American youth and young adults, to lead our community, the nation, and the world into the New Millennium with a synergy that transcends cultural diversities.

We inspire to help Asian Americans to get more out of life by showing them that resources are out there for them to meet their needs to have a good life. As society is constantly changing, resources are becoming scarcer, and as our communities are becoming more diverse, peoples are constantly seeking more enrichment out of life. Thus, we pick issues that matter most for them and offer them solutions to help promote quality of life and well being.

Because, at the end of the day, a quality of life is a life that offers better perspectives and better opportunities. Thus, by inspiring people to unlock their deepest potential and to be empowered. The Foundation will help them to be prepared in mind and in body for new opportunities, thus improve their quality of life.
